Well better late than never right? This week completed our first full summer in Florida. Our most significant trip during the summer months was Coachman Park in Clearwater to the 4th of July Fireworks display. It was nice to take a break from the everyday hustle and bustle. Considering we had a 4th weekend tradition in our family for years we needed a plan being new to PInellas County.
Our day began with sandwich making and picnic basket stuffing, very important stuff. We prepared for a long time out and made the trip to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to check in on our favorite aquatic friends.
Making our way through the crowd we found live music, crafts, and so much more. The edge of a wall by the docks became our waiting spot for the pending show that night. It was a bit breezy and storms threatened to halt the fireworks display a few times. We watched all the boats come into dock and line up as the sunset painted the sky in front of us. Laid back outings have always been our favorites. Low key, comfy clothes, bring your own food, and just enjoy everything in the moment. Soaking up sunshine is always a huge plus as well!
As we have found during many outings here in Florida, people are very friendly and outgoing which helped pass the time until blast off. I can easily say the delay and wait time was worth the show. Music was the backdrop for the blasts of light and color and shapes likes stars and hearts even coincided with both patriotic and top hits songs. We watched in awe as the multiple bright fireworks illuminated the bay and boats below. It was a beautiful evening and felt good to just lean into one another so peacefully and loving during our time there. We really needed the downtime!
It wasn’t long after we talked about this experience and already began planning next year’s (and hopefully many more after) 4th of July. I’ll give you a hint, it involves being on the water!
We have all been very busy this summer so many posts have been severely delayed but that won’t stop us from sharing our experiences and love of Florida’s Pinellas County. We hope you all had an amazing summer filled with many great memories and here’s to the start of an amazing Autumn season!
